Promotion Guidelines

These are the current guidelines issued 07/26/2013 to form a check list from: The Guidelines set within the RTRWIKI for each rank should be followed. Please refer to the MILPACS for OIC's,CO's and Post holders.
Promotions will be completed once a proper PAF has been submitted.
E-1 TO E-4
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Any alterations past a single rank must be approved by the Chain of Command.
E-5 TO E-8 ( MASTER SERGEANT ONLY)
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- All promotions E-5 and above require a position within rTr in either Company or Division staff.
- All promotions E-5 to O-3 require approval of the Eval-Boards.
E-8 TO E-9*
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Sergeant Major of the Army
- E-9* Promotions require a unanimous vote of ALL active duty Sergeant Majors
- All promotions E-5 to O-3 require approval of the Eval-Boards.
O-1 to 0-2
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- All promotions E-5 to O-3 require approval of the Eval-Boards.
O-3
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Nomination by the Sergeant Major of the Army, OIC, Division Leader or higher.
- All promotions E-5 to O-3 require approval of the Eval-Boards.
O-4
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Nomination by the acting Commanding General of the Division or Division Command
- Unanimous vote of the Joint Chief of Staff
O-5 and UP
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Must be approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff
