General can be used as a generic term for all grades of general officer, or it can specifically refer to a single rank that is just called General.

*No Negative Counseling Statements during the last ninety (90) days.
*No Article 15 in the last sixty ninety (90) days.
*Promoted by the Commanding General of the Division.
*Must be approved by unanimous vote by the [[Joint Chiefs of Staff]] 
*Demonstrated excellence as a Commissioned Officer in all areas.

: Two (2) years continuous service or two and a half (2.5) years non-continuous service.
